Willy Genonto considers quitting Leeds United

Last summer, Genonto made it clear he wanted to leave Leeds, even making himself unavailable for matches to force an exit.

That didn’t work out and he eventually reintegrated into Daniel Farke’s side, making 44 appearances in total and even starting in the Championship play-off final at the weekend.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Leeds will play another season in the second tier and Gnonto is “considering a change of scenery”.

He would rather return to his native Italy to join a Serie A club.

Leeds ruled him out last summer but there is a feeling his value may have dropped now and the club would be happier.

Gnonto has not received any offers from Serie A and is awaiting developments in the coming weeks and months.

With Leeds likely to need to sell players to raise funds this summer, the Whites could view Genonto as a good prospect for sale.
