Arsenal bid for Kadioglu after agreeing personal terms – Famydz football

Famydz football – The 24-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2023/24 season with Fenerbahce, contributing three goals and five assists in 51 games. Kadioglu has played in both full-back positions, but 82% of his playing time has come on the left side of the back four.

Arsenal have reached an agreement on personal terms with the versatile star and they will now continue negotiations with Fenerbahce over a summer transfer package, according to reports in El Mundo.

“People’s Daily” claims that the Gunners may need to pay more than 17 million pounds to sign the defender.

Quality full back

Arsenal is the best defensive team in the Premier League with 29 goals conceded. Nonetheless, manager Mikel Arteta may want to strengthen his defensive options this summer and may prioritize a new left-back.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu all saw plenty of playing time at the position last season. Tomiksu is the most impressive of the trio, but the Japanese star has been plagued by injuries.

If Arsenal goes ahead with the signing of Kadioglu, one of Zinchenko or Chiviol could leave. Considering Chiviol is primarily a centre-back and can also play in midfield, it’s probably the former.

A right-footed left-back, Kadioglu has impressed with his ability to operate from an inverted position. His playing style is very similar to that of Manchester City star Joao Cancelo, although he is more defensively capable.

The Turkish ace doesn’t shy away from tackles. He has good recovery speed and tends to win most matchups. If Arsenal can sign him for £17m, he would be a huge deal this summer.

Arsenal could easily recoup the money spent on selling Zinchenko during the transfer window. The 27-year-old has been vulnerable defensively but remains a quality attacking full-back who should attract offers.
